The Real Batang Dagat

Ebe made the announcement last January 7 that he’s leaving the band, but it’s only sinking in now. No more Sugarfree. I can’t believe it. I don’t think any other OPM band comes close in coming up with the most heartfelt and heart-wrenching songs that any lovestruck teenager can relate to. ”Sa Wakas” was one of the soundtracks to my early college years. And if you’re anything like me, you’d know what it was like belting out “O kay tagal din kitang mamahalin” while thinking of whoever it was you were pining over when “Burnout” first came out.

Sugarfree, thank you so much for the music. You have no idea how many hearts you’ve touched over these years. O kay tagal din namin kayong mamahalin.
